The Story Behind Katinka Kids: Why We Created Backpacks Children Truly Love

When we started Katinka Kids, the idea was simple: create something children would truly love to wear and parents would feel confident choosing.

As parents and designers, we noticed that many children’s backpacks were either practical but visually unexciting, or cute but poorly made. We believed children deserve both – playful design that sparks their imagination and quality that stands up to everyday adventures. That belief became the foundation of Katinka Kids.

Each backpack begins as a small idea on paper. We spend time thinking about what makes children smile – friendly animals, bright colours, and shapes that feel playful and comforting. At the same time, we focus on practical details parents appreciate: durable materials, thoughtful pockets for little treasures, and comfortable straps designed for growing children.

Our backpacks are crafted from high-quality polyurethane, a lightweight and durable material that is easy to maintain and suitable for everyday use. This allows children to carry their favourite things comfortably, whether they are heading to kindergarten, a family trip, or a small adventure in the park.

Design is an important part of our philosophy. Every character in our collection – from playful foxes and bunnies to cheerful monsters and ladybugs – is created to become a small companion for children. We want each backpack to feel like a little friend joining them on their daily journeys.
